Personal Triumph Acton has a history which goes back to 2003 when we opened our fitness studio in Concord. We offered memberships and personal training. Our approach then was that there is a sensible, scientific and human aspect to the improvement of health. We all have our struggles and challenges but having the best health possible is critical to having the best life possible and we all deserve that. Unfortunately many people struggle with the reduced esteem and increased self-doubt from wrestling with weight or wellness challenges and never having the long-term success they so desire. Most times, there is such a history of struggle with weight that there are obstacles in your way that make change more difficult. The change needs to start with your heart and your head. Personal Triumph Fitness & Wellness is built with that goal in mind. We have an approach, tools and experience to take you to that place you long to live. We have done it for others, let us help you achieve your Personal Triumph!
How do we do personal training?
We are
talking about an important issue, your health. Nothing is
more important. When you work with a professional trainer, you do not
just get the workout. You get a person with a knowledge of health and
fitness who is working with your best interest in mind.
Trainers are most commonly used as a means to lose weight, get fit and tone-up. A good trainer
should also be considered part of your medical team. So, when you consider rates per workout, it should be understood that there
is time that goes into interviewing, designing, motivating, supporting,
assessing progress and adjusting your program. Those are hours that go
into working with a client. The benefit is a deeper experience,
personalization and progress. If you are not getting that from a
trainer, then you are not getting personal training.
There is
a huge upside to working with a caring, knowledgeable trainer with many
ways of reaching you and helping you reach better health. My vision of
a trainer is a person who studies and learns the science deeply. They
learn to interpret why and when a client needs a particular type of
training. They help you understand the why behind what you are doing so
you are connected to it. They keep you safe and push you to a goal.
They should address the needs of the human and connect with you deeply
rather that simply count and carry a clip board. In addition, we at
Personal Triumph provide a wellness class to help you learn about
yourself and create your own long term strategies to weight and health
management. We strive to earn your trust as a professional trainer. You
are worth it.
What Personal Triumph is NOT.
Proper personal training should require the focus of a
surgeon from a trainer. If you receiving a session from a person chewing gum, not
prepared for YOUR needs, talking to others and not giving you 100%
attention then you are not receiving professional personal training. Too many people have a poor image of a personal trainer. Although most (yes, some still do not) health clubs require national certification, there is a vast difference in the quality of the training.
Personal training should be demanding on the trainer to stay in the moment with the client. In most cases (except the young and very healthy) professional personal training should be considered part or your medical team. Everyone should have a relationship with a professional trainer You can work regularly with one or have a once per month session to ensure that you stay involved in practicing good health.
There are businesses that focus on "group personal training". This is not personal training. These are "small group classes". This approach is basically a glorified Curves for Women approach for $20 per workout. Based on the highest standard of one trainer focusing 100% on one client, this can not be achieved in a group class. These group personal classes allow you to exercise in a group at a higher than normal rate from a trainer. You are paying for exercise ONLY. Many times the trainer is just a person who has gone through the workout. This approach to exercise is fine and we offer it as well but it is not personal training. We integrate classes to soften your muscles in addition to phone support into our program.
